Meet the acorns!
If you haven’t seen the acorn village, it looks like this:
and has a lot of fun activities for the acorns. Its got a acorn run, a slide, two televisions, lots of beds, a stove, a see-saw, an easel for painting, and an undercover play area. There is also a flying fox, a swing, a library, and a table for eating.
It is mostly made of cardboard, felt, and some paper. There is foam, and string, but there isn’t that much of them.
The books in the library are very short though, because acorns can’t read as well as we can. They’re books have little rhymes, like this one: Acorn says hi. Bye! Yes, that would be an example. And that would be all that was in the book, for as you know, the acorns aren’t as good at reading.
The stove has a saucepan where the acorns can cook. The acorns make little meals, including spaghetti, ice cream, or just some cherry juice. When I play with the acorns, I sometimes teach them how to make these little meals. The acorns can then eat their meals on the little table.
The acorn run is short, but sure does work! The acorns can slide down and relax at the bottom. There is also some felt at the bottom, so they can sometimes sleep there.
The slide is a kind on acorn run, but shorter. The start is on top of the library. The starting point can also be a resting area, where the acorns can again, sleep.
The flying fox is a small zip line where the acorns can travel with ease. It starts from the flying fox, and ends at the television. It is made of string, cardboard, and a bit of felt.
There are 34 acorns in total. All the acorns love it there – they’ve all got smiley faces!
